Strawberry & Mango homemade fizzy drink for our soda free home!

I categorically never give my kids soda because I know the gumption it takes to kick that habit when you get hooked on it, but I also don’t want them to feel deprived so I make all types of nifty fizzy drinks. This is another favorite that is so easy to make.

My why:……….
A can of regular soda contains eight teaspoons of sugar with no nutritional value, just plain old empty calories creating havoc. 
According to a study published in The Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism drinking soda appears to alter brain chemistry. 
If you have to hide in a closet to drink your soda so you don’t set a double standard please there is no shame in us trying to do our best so our kids don’t have to go through the same struggle:)

My secret ingredient here is the sparkling water, I buy whichever comes in a glass bottle. .

Ingredients organic
8 strawberries
1/4 cup cube mango
Raw honey to taste
2 tablespoons fresh squeezed lemon juice

Blend all ingredients together until creamy with no particulates left. 
Pour in 4 cups, add ice and fill cups with sparkling water and watch it fizz, this makes my son so happy.

Sautéed Shrimp and Green Beans

Ingredients:
1lb green beans (such as French string beans)
1 medium onion, diced (about 1 cup)
2 tomatos, diced (about 1 1/3 cup)
2 scallions, sliced thinly
2 cloves garlic, minced (I use a garlic press)
5 spring fresh parsley, chopped (about 2 tablespoons)
3 tablespoons olive oil
Salt to taste
1/4lb large shrimp (about 16) (washed, pealed and deveined)
